    Ist Inquiry

When my Daddy died he told me never to get rid of
this stock, yet I've had some concerns lately. Is
anyone else out there bothered by a stock being sold at
2-4.5 points below the previous day's close? Note the
volume of the transactions. It's like somebody is
invading the piggy bank just to get a couple of bucks for
a new toy, regardless of the stock value. What
    gives?

    • Check history to find the answer to your
question, It has been a good ride for me.
      They ( ceo &
      group ) are making money,
      they are doing things that
      help the taxpayer
      increase the wealth with out
      paying so much
income tax. ( spin off etc. ) Fasten
your seat belt and enjoy the ride , if you are
      "chichen"
don't get on. it is a roller coaster for sure.
      Your
DAD knew what he was telling you. I to
      have
watched with concern at those wild moves,
      the whole
market is making me wonder if the
      people who have
      their future invested know
      where they're going--
every one ( some ) just
make money and are so busy
      arn't keeping track
of the brokers- and what is
      really going on.
If you're on the margin with your
      stocks,don't
do it. unless your bills are paid and you
      are
secure in every way.-- but sounds like you
      are
watching and are ok - hang in there.

      • Since I'm not the one selling at the lower price,
I'm not worried in the least. Alleghany has a
relatively small float, and price changes from day to day
tend to be inexplicable. But I've been a Y stockholder
for over 40 years, and I've been happy with the
performance. Furthermore, my basis is too low for me to sell,
        whatever the day-to-day changes.

        If you're a day
trader, you should stay away from Y. Otherwise you'll
        deserve what you get.
