    Lumber shortage after last Hurricane

The Association of General Contractors forecasted that building material prices are expected to remain high throughout 2006 as a result of the effects of Hurricane Katrina. Katrina resulted in shortages of natural gas and crude oil and caused a 20 to 50 percent spike in the price of PVC piping, roofing and insulation and prices are expected to remain nearly the same. The cost of plywood, drywall, steel and concrete are also expected to remain 20 percent higher than pre-Katrina.

Gustav heading to Gulf Coast. Hanna heading to Florida and expected to cross over into Gulf. Then you have the assembly line coming out of Africa.

    I hope I'm wrong.
See L97 now off coast of Africa. Could be the Big One. Next week could be very good for shareholders in LPX.
