    FAF's prospects this fall?

Anyone able to state with accuracy whether FAF share price tends to drop or rise in the fall?

Significantly positive for FAF share price would seem to be the fact there hasn't been much insider selling, notwithstanding some noticeable purchases of stock by insiders at bargain basement rates via stock options. Also the fact that today's drop in share price was on such low volume, that FAF may benefit from some "window dressing" around 9/30 as the stock has done very well compared with general market for 2002, and that FAF's price to sales ratio is more favorable than competitors FNF and ORI.
    Please comment on fall tendencies.

    • I don't think that you can guage anything on fall trading. You can look at a 5-year chart, but I don't think it will help. First American is in great shape, but you have to understand that we are in a general bear market and we may have seen the highs in real estate. A look at the performance of Fannie and Freddie and Magic and what looks like a topping in housing stocks - just be cautious.
