    redelivery of the Sigma

Hmmm. I guess getting the $5.7M upfront is nice, and the redeployment at $29,400/day is pretty good, but only until April 2012. That means they would need to average $29,100/day for the remaining year and a half of lost charter time in order to not "loose" money on the broken charter. It's doable, but I would rather have had the $38K/day charter in place until OCT-2013.

    • Well, they've found a way to juice Q1 numbers, anyway! At this point, it's hard to argue with the payout...

    • It could be worse...5.7 mill with fuel ain't bad all things considered...could get pretty scary, but so far, not so bad for us...

I suspect that 5.7 mill will come in pretty handy when the high seas get rough later this year...

question is which bulkers will go BR, and who will survive...

I am also wondering if the banks will need a firm to manage all those BR ships from other companies while they try to unload them in a bloated market...

Star Bulk's wholly owned subsidiary, Starbulk SA performs the Technical management of all of the Company's vessels. Star Bulk believes that its in-house technical management reduces operating expenses, eliminates vessel management fees while maintaining the high quality of its fleet.
