I believe I dodged a bullet on TDC, I see you didn't expect the rebound. If you look at last May you see the same rise ? I'm out now with a small loss, went over to EMC, made back the loss and see some further opportunity.
Since December 10,2002 -- roughly ten years -- my holdings are up 658%. Not quite Oracle, but a great stock in the long run. you will see people on this board saying other companies are good on Big Data; that IBM is going to crush it; etc. etc. I don't believe it. Big Data is going to make a bunch of companies well off. But I'd been worried earlier. It's P/E ratio was high, and the economic conditions did not seem to justify the price. I think now, with a lower P/E, good PEG ratio, and decent P/E forward ratio, that it's gone back to being a good long-term buy. Most importantly, I hope that spending on Big Data purchases will be up (Teradata estimates 6% revenue growth this year.) So -- yes, I think this might be a good entry point.
The cloud involves moving Technology. Amazon and Google both market darlings with piles of cash have both decided to move into data warehousing, intelligent data analaysis etc. These Cos have tons of cash to burn and small fry can be be runover.
