    Hi My name is Anna
    I am a Russian immigrant, who moved to the US recently. I was employed by "Red Lobster, Reno, NV" for 5 months. I really loved that place as well as people who worked there. The very first words that welcomed me at that place were - "We are here to protect and support you". Those words were coming from the management of that place. Indeed, they have proven those words very many times!!! I would like to thank Jami, Socko and Cindy for being very suportive and helpful. For the first time in two years, I felt protected and surrounded by people who cared about me so much.

    Being employed for a period of 5 month, I have managed to make a lot of friends among guests as well as co-workers. Very many of our guests came back to the restaurant to just be served by me!! They have called Red Lobster many times to personally thank me for the service. Of course I have made mistakes and I could not always be perfect and do things the way they are supposed to be done. Just as any other server in that restaurant, I would occasionaly ran up the wrong item or forget to bring a salad in time.... Those were the common mistakes that servers do when they start working at the new place.

    March 3, 2002, something happened, something that have shocked me tremendously, something that has deeply hurt me. I was WRONGFULLY accused in stealing money and have been fired. One of the guests called our restaurant and said that RedLobster overcharged them by 5 dollars, which later turned out to be an "unauthorized tip add on". The guests presented our managers with 2 copies of charge receipts that had discrepancy. One of them (the copy that goes to the restaurant) had a 5 dollars tip added to the total + their signature on the bottom. The other copy (that customers kept), had no indication of that 5 dollar tip that was on the Restaurant copy of the receipt. Unfortunately, the computers that are used to print the receipts, do that by printing out TWO, NON CARBON COPY receipts, which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to have two identical receipts. Very FEW people actually add tip to THEIR copy of the receipt. Anyway, Katie MILLER, who happens to be the head manager at that restaurant, took words of dishonest people for granted and FIRED me without even trying to look into the problem or proving that it was me, who added that $5.00 tip. Her only reasoning was - "I have been in this business for many years and never had any of our guests call us and say that there is a discrepancy on the receipt". She did not bother with going into accusation details, nor she tried to find out whether the accusation was true or not, she has chosen the easy way - FIRE!! thus, made everyone that knows me, think that I am capable of doing somthing low like that.

    I am ready to do an investigation and prove that I never added that tip. To start, I am willing to send copies of the tickets to the Document Investingation Lab, something that Kathie Miller should 've done herself before ACCUSING ME. Please help me guys, go to the site and express your opinion. I would really appreciate that. Thank you guys!!!

    I have always beleived that such a reputable company as Darden corporation cares about its employees and I still want to belive in that!!!

    P.S After 10 letters, 7 faxes and numerous e-mails, Darden Corporation Chose to ignore me...

    • agreed, I worked for darden and she had the DRP avenue to explore at the very least.I addition, I was a manager for OG and I can tell you no manager would fire her for this without getting input form employee relations. Darden takes care of thier employees, sometimes to the extreme. One of the reasons I knew I could not make a career out of Darden was because sometimes employee relations took the side of the employee when I knew I had the best interests of the restuarant in mind. Anna could have firts talked to employee relations and then requested a DRP. For those of you who don't know what DRP is let me explain and it will shed light on why Anna's story just doesn't add up. An employee requests a DRP an a manager from another store is assigned to coordinate the process. He selects 3 employees who are trained in the procedure and hold a hearing on a nuetral site. The employee tells the 3 employees his story and then the manager tells his side. The employees make the decision and Darden must abide by whatever they say. If Anna's story made sense she would not be afraid to request a DRP because her fellow employees who like her so much would have kept her.

    • Why is it that sooner or later every Yahoo Board sinks to a new low, and I'm not talking about the stock price? This used to be a good board and can still be. Let's get beyond this anna stuff, please.

    • This is an old hoax that has been played on many companies. That's why Darden ignores it. So let's just shut it down now and forever and deal with the really important stuff...like earnings, EPS, etc.

      This may be a wrong place to post your heart breaking story. In a market like this, we are all money thieves. We are the small ones (called retail investors). There are big ones like Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. They are the Wall Street financial terrorists.

      What I cannot figure out is why you took all the time and effort to create a website... from scanning a photo, choosing the background, registering the domain name... I mean that is a lot of work and effort to go through after being terminated from a part time job you worked for just 5 months. Why bother? In all the time you spent on it you could have been working on a resume and filling out other job applications.

      You live in Reno, I am certain there is plenty of work in the resorts for a woman who speaks English and Russian. Maybe the hotels need some servers or some desk-help that could aid Russian tourists? Look into it, don't be counter-productive.

        yes, you are absolutely right, it does take time and efforts., never ever in my life I have treated so badly., never in my life I felt so MAD!!! I am sorry, but I want justice

        I have a job, I found it 24 hours after I got fired...it's not about that., I loved the place I worked in., I had many friends there among employees as well as visitors and I had to leave all that because the top manager made a very bad mistake?

    • Anna, you are unclear. How did the customer have the 2 copies? One is suppose to be picked back up by you and kept by the resturant when you turn in the paperwork.
      If one had the $5 tip added and their signature, what's the problem.
      You say you never added the tip. You had to. If the customer was charged, you are the only one able enter the tip amount. You had to. The only case to make for yourself is that you entered it because the customer wrote it on the reciept. That's it.

      I have managed to keep a job with them for one year and 3 months...

      Sorry about your luck, it is nice to recieve matching funds from darden in the 410(K).

      My advice to you? Honey, move on! There are other restaraunts to wait tables at. Do not bother us.

      What you are doing REALLY looks tacky.
