Seasons 52 is the future for Darden

I just experienced Seasons 52 for the first time tonight in Tysons Corner, VA. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, the service was good, and there were plenty of customers (compared with the surrounding restaurants). But most importantly, the food portions were right-sized. All the entrees are 475 calories or less. Butter is not an ingredient in any item on the menu. So you can leave the restaurant feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Its nice that non-obese consumers can now have a choice for a satisfying, moderately upscale, moderately healthy (but not "healthfood") meal. Its also good for Darden shareholders because this restaurant no doubt makes a much higher margin on its food than Olive Garden or Red Lobster. In my opinion, this type of restaurant fills a much needed void in types of food/experience offered, and is the wave of the future for Darden, and restaurants in general.
