WAS IN A RED LOBSTER THE OTHER NIGHT...

In a city to be unnamed in the Northeast United
States, and had an unpleasant experience.

    RED
LOBSTER MAKES SOME OF THE FINEST FOOD IN SEAFOOD ANYWHERE
for some of the best prices...witness the half sized
salmon and trout, both mouth watering...for only about
nine bucks a pop...or full serving for about fourteen
    dollars.

The problem is not the food. The atmosphere is pretty
good. The restaurant has a main room in most Red
Lobsters, and there is usually a very nice and superior
decorated side rooms. This particular one had wood awnings
and sea lanterns in the side rooms. We had been in
town about a month and had been at this one Red
Lobster for about four times so far...and we drove 50
miles each time one way to get there.

    CONTINUED
ON NEXT MESSAGE. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING DARDEN. WE
AVERAGE, IN ANOTHER STATE, ABOUT TWICE A WEEK AT THE LOCAL
RED LOBSTER. THIS IS ABOUT SIXTY BUCKS A WEEK IN YOUR
COFFERS. BUT THE STOCK IS A DOG IN PRICE RETURNS. I
BELIEVE I KNOW WHY. READ ON.

    • I posted a new message as quick as i could. Maybe me little brother is smarter than I give him credit for.

    • and ignore the bigot. He doesn't deserve the energy expended.

    • Thedebster suggests that we direct that passion toward discussion of the stock, the new restaurants, and new ideas. Sounds good to me. Let's lighten up!!!!

    • Don't get too upset about this guy. If he's serious, he doesn't deserve your attention. If he's not, he's getting a chuckle from his posts.
      Either way, ignore the nonsense.

    • if you notice this moron's posts are not even
      consistent. first he posts this:

      Then he makes
      the statement:
portions of food for the average
      male suck"
sounds to me like a sexually frustrated
old man. should any waitress who is just trying to
make a living have to put up with someone like him. I
put up with people like this in the restaurant bizz
for to long. They think just because they are
spending money they should be allowed to act any way they
      they want.
The comment about driving 50 miles is
one I always heard to. He did it 8 times. my question
is"if this restaurant was so bad why did he drive 50
miles 8 times?" answer: he didn't. your right they make
places for people like him and hooters is one of them,
      not red lobster

    • Passion? Maybe, but personally, I'd rather see passion about the stock, the new restaurants, and new ideas than some bigot's ranting and ravings. Just MHO.

    • About time we see a little passion on an otherwise dead board.

    • As a twice a weeker in Red Lobster at our other
home in another state, was shocked to find out the
management differences in this Northeastern state...not New
      York.

The southern Lobster we frequent is
polite, we can pick our food, servers, since we are
accustomed to a few, and our choice of booth or table, just
like we can choose smoking or nonsmoking.

      This
particular night, about eightish, in this other city, this
being our fifth visit to this particular Red Lobster,
after driving fifty miles to get there, we made
customary requests for non-smoking, and a female waitress.
I am not prejudiced, do not argue with gays, and am
sure that the particular server in question was
straight. Not a question of gay versus straight servers.
Just a question of having had a real tough day in
business, and then arriving late and hungry after a long
trip looking forward to the Red Lobster experience as
we know it in FLORIDA. THE GOOD RED LOBSTERS. This
northern thing had a manager for the evening who through a
HISSY FIT ABOUT US BEING DESCRIMINATORY TOWARD GAYS/MEN
IN REQUESTING A FEMALE WAITRESS. IS it a problem
that a single, fairly well off middle aged guy who is
STRAIGHT wants to look at soft feminine servers, not HAIRY
ARMS on some guy? Is this what I drove fifty miles
for? AND THE SIDE ROOMS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AGAIN...AS
USUAL...CLOSED FOR THE DAY. SO this would be our fifth
experience in almost the same booth, with some guy
      waiter.

THEN THERE WERE THE DELINQUENTS WE WERE SEATED NEXT TO
IN THE NEXT BOOTH. LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, AND RUDE. AND
THE REST OF THE RESTAURANT WAS EMPTY. Should have
been no problem to at least give us privacy across the
same room with a female, polite, knowledgeable
waitress...BUT THEN WAS RED LOBSTER THERE TO SERVE US...OR WERE
WE THERE ONLY TO BE MILKED FOR CASH WITH NO OPTIONS
AVAILABLE FROM RED LOBSTER? DID IT MATTER THAT WE SPEND
ABOUT 2500 DOLLARS THERE A YEAR?

      Please
continue reading in the next post.

      • So we:

        a SPEND 2500 DOLLARS A YEAR IN
        OTHER RED LOBSTERS

B WERE SEATED IN AN EMPTY
RESTAURANT TO AN OBNOXIOUS GANG OF DELINQUENTS...

        C
HAD A VERY BAD DAY UP TILL THAT TIME AT EIGHT O
        CLOCK

D WERE ONCE AGAIN REFUSED IN REQUEST TO BE SEATED
IN BEST AND DIFFERENTLY DECORATED DINING
        ROOM

E WERE REFUSED IN A REQUEST TO BE WAITED ON BY A
FEMALE WAITRESS BY A PRISSY NIGHT MANAGER WHO SAID THAT
        WAS IMPOSSIBLE

        F WERE NOT TRYING TO
DESCRIMINATE AGAINST GAYS OR MALE WAITERS IN GENERAL.

        G
WERE DEALT WITH AS IF WE HAD NEVER BEEN IN A RED
LOBSTER BEFORE IN OUR LIVES, AND THAT WE WERE THERE TO
        SERVE THEM!

H WERE TOLD IN A PATRONIZING TONE BY
PROBABLY A GAY MANAGER THAT WE COULD TAKE IT OR LEAVE
        IT.

I WE LEFT. We will not go back to that Red Lobster.
It is the closest one to us in this other state, our
other home. We love the food and some of the
atmosphere, but the kid waiters with no people skills and the
        indifferent attitudes have to go.

        THIS WOULD OTHERWISE
BE A MARKET STORMING RESTAURANT CHAIN AND STOCK. But
there are the ignorant and moronic managers and
indifferent staff. And I have seen in the southern store some
of the best waiters and waitresses get fired just
because they are a few minutes late to work. THis then
leaves them with robot servers who are militaristic and
have no personality or tips with people.

        The
people is the problem. The management must identify
regulars and treat them with special service as a reward
for loyalty. There should be no question if you wish
to have a female server. Cut a lonely old divorced
guy a break. I can dream, can't I? And open up the
nice dining rooms all day, as long as your doors are
        open.

Admittedly the food is great. Got it. But the service is
variable. And the attitude from that manager is
unforgiveable. He is there to service customers, not to be
complied with, or else I would expect money from Red
Lobster when I go there, not the other way around.
