in case you haven't read about fukushima recently and are still eating fish

    google reuters.
"Tepco took months to release record strontium readings at Fukushima"

hopefully you all read the writings on the wall and have stopped eating any fish or sea products for 2-3 years now like some of us have said.

and also I do hope japan gets a clue and hurries up and buy up the lead market and make a dome to encase that area in a sarcophagus, made of concrete and other highly dense substances which is why I recommend lead as well.

prepare for cement prices to jump if japan actually decides to solve the problem. they should have used up their yen str to buy up assets on the cheap but they squandered their chance and want to enslave their own people further.

but stupid is as a stupid does. we are all in danger of their government stupidity now for many years.

    lost decade? meaning lost lives.
lets pray for the evil of this earth to die first before us
so we can start actually solving problems and rebuilding what they have destroyed

    guys good luck

UPDATE 1-U.S. to finalize loan guarantee for Southern Co nuclear plant
      Wednesday, 19 Feb 2014 | 4:05 PM ET

WASHINGTON, Feb 19 (Reuters) - The Obama administration will finalize about $6.5 billion in loan guarantees this week for the nation's first two new nuclear reactors in three decades, ending years of delay.

U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz will travel to Waynesboro, Georgia, on Thursday to mark the completion of an agreement backing the construction of two new reactors at Southern Co's Vogtle nuclear power plant, the Department of Energy announced on Wednesday.

The department issued a conditional agreement for the Vogtle plant totaling $8.3 billion in 2010, offering loan aid to Southern's Georgia Power unit as well as project co-owners Oglethorpe Power and Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG).

While loan assistance to Georgia Power and Oglethorpe will be finalized, the planned $1.8 billion loan guarantee to MEAG remains outstanding.

In a wide ranging speech at the National Press Club in Washington on Wednesday, Moniz said the Obama administration was committed to promoting innovations in energy technology that would help lower U.S. carbon dioxide emissions - but dodged questions on the Keystone XL pipeline and other contentious issues.

Despite criticism of Energy Department's loan program after the bankruptcy in 2011 of solar panel maker Solyndra, Moniz said the federal government must not be limited to strictly funding research and development.

"The need to accelerate the pace of change in response to climate change makes it essential that we continue investments ... that get the first movers out there in commercial market pushing the technology envelope," Moniz said.

Originally expected to be finalized in 2012, the loan aid for the Vogtle expansion was held up by haggling over new conditions requested by the Obama administration in the wake of Solyndra's failure.

      • Solar panel maker Solyndra folded after receiving a $535 million federal loan guarantee, leading to accusations that the Energy Department had mismanaged taxpayer dollars and favored political allies in doling out funds.

        REVIVAL ON HOLD

When it was offered four years ago, the loan deal for Vogtle was supposed to herald a new era for the U.S. nuclear power sector, which had stalled after the Three Mile Island nuclear accident in Pennsylvania in 1979.

Since then, surging U.S. natural gas production, weak growth in electricity demand and the lack of a cap on carbon emissions have dampened expectations for a nuclear renaissance.

Only a few nuclear plants are expected to be built and Vogtle is the only nuclear power plant to be offered a federal loan guarantee so far.

With "substantial" funding authority still available, Moniz did not rule out additional loan guarantees. He said the department plans to move ahead with the loan program to back deserving low-carbon projects across the energy spectrum.

    • Granted you make a valid point about fish and stupid people, but stick to the SVM message board stuff. We talk here about SVM, silver and gold, management, and not things like FISH.

    • Hmm.. How did this end up on a stock (SVM) message board. /ignore to all. :)

    • WAYYY off topic ryu! Stop eating fish for 2-3 years? Quit spreading fear with this stuff. While I do have a one week supply of Potassium Iodide on hand for me and my family, we are not going to stop eating fish. Just reducing our exposure. Fish is one of the healthiest proteins/fats one can eat and to not have it at all is depriving our body of nutrients. People could take supplements, but where is that coming from? I think it is best that we do continue to monitor the situation and be prepared. I would not want to live in Japan and I would not eat fish if I lived in Japan. Until next time...

      • as said the radioactive debris in japan is being moved around in japan incinerated so that it spreads the cancer risk around and no one would be the wiser.

governments and cronyism is corrupt there.
I do not believe one word from them.

I have banned all Japanese food products and fish from pacific from my shelf.
I may still try Atlantic fish or farmed fish in a tank. but in general fish themselves have become too toxic.

before fukushima the mercury accumulation in fish was already a problem now this just adds to the bad toxins in them.

sorry there are different radiations after all.

the problem with them is the bio accumulation inside fish hence why I said not the end of the world but the fish will be contaminated maybe a little more then necessary but I don't need anymore of that.

also west coast have more background radiation than east coast as well possibly because of all the earthquakes exposing the radioactive rocks in the mountains.

but there are some man made radioactive elements that decay in short order that are dangerous as well. again do not need more of that.

so calling for end of the world like the over blown nuke plants must all be gone.
I am though calling for shut downs of plants at or near fault lines.
and also removal of a group that has shown themselves to be incompetent and corrupt/evil

so this is not fear mongering of fukushima but just COMMON SENSE.
would you put a dangerous object near a child?

how about you give a child a gun or knife to play with?
hey what could go wrong right?

    • there are more comments on other forums as well
so yes if you have relatives in japan consider moving them out.
sell the businesses and houses there maybe move into the Chinese abandoned buildings

      hey maybe they knew?

"A Japanese Physician Is Encouraging the Evacuation of Tokyo
February 14, 2014 Nelson Groom Journalistic Endeavours

The physician has tested patients living in Tokyo, and the physician has found harmful symptoms.
There have been abnormalities in the patients’ differential white-blood-cell count. The physician has seen a decline in the neutrophil component in white blood cells. The decline can lead to fatal conditions like septicemia.

The physician can’t prescribe anything to the patients, because there are NOT any medicines to help.
The physician has seen patients living in Tokyo who are badly affected, but when the patients move to western Japan, the patients get better. After the patients come back to Tokyo, it gets worse again.
The physician recommends that anyone living in Tokyo head to western Japan 1 or 2 months out of the year.

In Japan, commercial distribution is prosperous, so the contaminated food is definitely coming to Tokyo. Many people claim that we have to eat the local products to sustain the economy, but the physician thinks that we should be testing everything thoroughly, and that at least children should be spared from eating food with any risk of contamination."
