How many times must we compare to prove you wrong???? Just yesterday I went to UPS to mail a 7 lb package ($11.75)....went to Fedex and it was $6.95......Fedex is scaring the shit out of not only UPS but the small share holders like yourself (100 shares)....Watch what happens within 5 years!!
No one at UPS is fired for not following the "methods." If its willful refusal to follow instruction, then yes they might but you would have to go through the grievance process and progressive disciplinary actions first. Usually the driver smartens up and does the job to the best of their ability and thats all UPS or the union looks for.
End of story!
I got a little news flash for you...UPS has the same methods and is expected to follow them to the letter also..Did you know that that is one of the things that a driver at UPS could lose their job over..Not doing the methods..Guess the union didn't help too much on that score..
I had a suit "help" me load a plane once. He tried to do some... creative load planning. I objected (and when I did I made sure I had 2 other agents around and usually my manager). I was civil, and as he was determined I followed directions.
A 30 minute delay and 2 positions of freight left behind later, they wanted to blame it on me. Luckily I have a good manager who was willing to back me up.
Unfortunitely, I can see the expierenced and fair managers of old taking the early out, and all thats left is ASPIRE and LEAP candidates who weren't all that good at there jobs to begin with. It got to the point that I left FedEx for a job that paid $10K less. The aggravation and backstabbing wasn't worth it.
TOo bad the hourlies can;t take early outs... i know a bunch that would run at it!
man,do we work at the same place?.....lol..the only time that belt slows is when the clock watchers show up with their pencils.we have had 3 drivers miss time due to tripping over the trip aids(the experts call them step aids), trying to load trucks while pkgs zip down the belt.
I see your going through the best practice dance also. Did you see the video where all the boxes were coming down the belt 2 feet a part and all were 24 by 24 inches and the belt was moving slow. Thats not the way it is at our sort in the morning
