First, results will be announced as stated by end of January. Now, when results are great-boom ! they're out with them. When results clearly show failure-same thing, they don't delay the inevitable. Here, the results are marginal and they are negotiating-until almost the last day-with the FDA to put the best spin on results they can. You'll see-that's the deal.
The problem with that theory is that there are many cases of delays that later result in great results.
First, KERX was going to be on the spotlight for at least 2 days; it would be a TERRIBLE mistake to be announcing your GREAT results to compete for momentum buyers while ANOTHER Pharma has just release them.
Second, the trial is large, held in several countries and locations in them. Anything could provoke a delay --- even though, January still has 2 days left...!!!!!!
Thanks for your theory but I don't buy it.
My biggest concern here is that if a few of those countries/institutions fails to follow the exact procedure & data gathering steps, the results would be skewed. But, I HOPE there are many safeguards in place to corroborate them.
Except they have nothing to do with the FDA at this point in the process--that is 9-12 months from now. There is no "spin" to the data for this release--just facts here--met or did not meet endpoints.
That's right, there is no FDA involvement at this point bro. The company may plead with them to amend the SPA in the future, but for now they gotta be dealing with a PR disaster. Undoubtedly they are mining the data to find some sort of subgroup where the drug had a statistically significant result. Not sure if they will be able to spin it in any positive way. And last don't forget, management are just regular people too despite their fat salaries and perks. After all of their pumping and speech making, they have to be feeling pretty silly, and I'm sure they're not anxious to be deluged with hundreds of angry phone calls and letters from shareholders. It's natural that they will try to hold off as long as possible. Some last minute TRUTH for ya.
