GP just put the financial levers in place to be a purchaser................... Any chance it will be PCA? Would be a good fit wouldn't it?
its coming
has anyone considered the fact that the current administration in DC might oppose legally the takeover of PCA by GP(Koch). even though they ok'd IP and Rock-Tenn's increased market share, they hate the Koch brothers and might make it expensive and difficult for them to increase market share. they don't always play fair in washington politics. just saying.
Any thoughts on pkg buying bz? Synergies seem to align well to compete with ip.
Or maybe PCA buys GP's corrugated div and mills........
Looks like no one is biting, Headhunter!
My understanding is that Inland approached Koch/GP to fight off IP. GP said they weren't interested as boxplant profits don't merit the investment. So unless that mindset has changed, I don't see them buying boxplants, however they do like mills.
PCA's and Inland's box plant system look completely different. It is possible Koch could see PCA as a good opportunity whereas Inland's would require more effort.
