I want to buy few thousand shares of HCBK
According to Yahoo finance HCBK has total debt of $29 billions, is this correct or is it a wrong? Where all that debt comes from...Anyone?
"That report is 3-4 years out of date."
J2s32, I said it was dated but had relevance to today's HCBK. But I'm glad that you don't think HCBK is a terrible investment. Look, I'm no fan of any company. I'm strickly an investor and trader and have been doing this for a long time. I read your posts and appreciate your perspective. You brought up concerns about HCBK and your points are well taken. But looking at the stock from a trader's perspective, and weighing the risks along with the positives, I still think HCBK is an excellent entry point between $10.90 & $10.99. And I put my money where my mouth is. I may very well lose, but I'm confident I won't. I suspect in 3 months this stock will be somewhere in the $12 range, and that would put me in an excellent position to consider a trade. Who knows? But thanks for your input and good luck trading.
Here's something old, but I think it still applies to the present. HCBK is holding up well in face of todays Market selloff. I still maintain $10.90 to $11.00 is an excellent entry point.
J2s32, I just bought some HCBK at $10.99 and felt that was a pretty good entry price all things considered. But after reading this thread, HCBK looks like a walking nightmare. Is there any point at all in shareprice that would make you consider it to be a reasonable investment? It certainly pays a decent divvy and with ex div on 2/2, buying it now and factoring in possible upside in shareprice, why not take the plunge? What's your thought on that?
No, I sold after this quarter's earnings announcement. I generally try to stick with stocks with improving fundamentals. I got suckered into HCBK when it was trading at such low multiples just as things started getting worse.
Thank you. If this is all true, it would mean HCBK is in serious trouble, meaning the stock could drop dramatically. I found it unusual the stock hasn't bounced back at all after it's recent fall.
