How HCBK should react to the merger "delay"

The "management" of Hudson City Bancorp should IMMEDIATELY announce that if the proposed merger with M&T is NOT completed by January 31, 2014, their intention WILL BE to terminate the merger agreement, and immediiately begin to entertain offers from other prospective "merger" partners. The ONLY reason HCBK's stock price had been rising prior to today's announcement was the expectation that they were going to be acquired; this INDEFINITE "delay" now effectively means HCBK (and its failed business model) is back on its own for at least the next few quarters, which is NOT going to be good for HCBK shareholders (for proof, see's today's action in the stock's price). HCBK's "management" appears to be so inept, they can't even find a proper merger partner, so I have ZERO confidence in them if they have to remain on their own for very long. However, if they're lucky, soneone else will come along and put them out of their misery. If not, it's back to the $6 range for the stock.....
