1. If you look more closely at the insider buying you will note that most of it was done in connection with the IPO. Only one director, John Birchby, bought any substantial amount in the open market subsequent to the IPO.
2. A high short interest provides a good underpinning to the price of the shorted stock...after the shorts cover that under pinning is gone. So a precipitous drop in the HCBK short interest is NOT necessarily bullish.
