I am reposting the message #365, from March 10,
1999:
-------------------------------------------------------------
As for what individual investors can do. One,
Institutions hold a very large part of Pall stock and, two,
senior management serves at the pleasure of the Board of
Directors and institutional investors. Individual investors
must work through those two bodies to achieve a
change. Therefore, I propose: [1] we determine who are
the buy/sell decision-makers at the stock-holding
institutions [and their addresses], and the addresses for
board members; [2] we compile a fact-based listing of
management's deficiencies; and [3] we express our findings to
both the board and the institutions.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I have determined that the top five institutional
investors in Pall are:
1 PRICE (T.ROWE) ASSOCIATES
[6,754,387 shares]
2 CALIFORNIA, UNIVERSITY OF-REGENTS
[5,509,200 shares]
3 CAPITAL RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT
COMPANY [4,800,000 shares]
4 STATE FARM MUTUAL
AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE CO [4,788,700 shares]
5 FRANKLIN
RESOURCES, INC [3,957,660 shares]
I would appreciate
help determining the name and address of the decision
makers for each of these funds.
Also, instead of
bitching, would someone please draft and post a strawman of
the list of management concerns and
deficiencies.
Finally, does anyone know if the UC fund has any "socially
responsibile" criteria for investments? My concern is they do,
and they will dump Pall for its partnership with DOE.
