    • May I assume that RIF means "realignment in force"? What is the strategy this month? Vertical, company size, product?

The strategy is to get rid of 10% of the sales force. Bill and John think this makes us scared, and therefore stronger. In reality, it means that all the good people are interviewing at our competitors. While there are definitely a few good sales people around, there are a lot of losers running around here with jobs. Because we do not balance territories, buddies of mgmt get juicy accounts and those who don't "fall in line" get jerked around.

Shareholders, our managers are not paid on the performance of their teams. They are paid on the performance of the company as a whole. This means that the worst peforming manager gets paid the same as the best performing manager. This means that all the GOOD managers have left because no good manager would want to work that way. The remaining managers will never leave because they are terrified of going somewhere where they will actually be judged by their performance.

Shareholders, this is not a management structure that is in your best interest.
