think it will be? I have to figure at least $12.50. Might be time to buy a few more shares.
Thanks. No, there really aren't any more pure wine plays beyond WVVI that are publicly traded in the US. Concha y Toro (Chile) might be a target soon and Southcorp (Australia) is having big problems. A few California companies have private offerings (Rosenblum comes to mind), and many of them will ultimately be acquired as well. Next big acquisition will probably be Ste. Michelle Wine Estates in Washington (Columbia Crest, Ste. Michelle). UST needs some cash, I hear. After that, look for Beringer to be dumped by Foster's. Someday, somebody might pick up Andres in Canada, too.

mr johnson you really seem to know this bus. are there any other likely candidates for a a buy out. had chalone and sold too soon.
the Mondavi buy is around a billion and Chalone has several high end wineries. with a little work doesn't Chalone have a big upside. Does Mondavi have more property then Chalone?
is chalone the last good play ideas appreciated since i got impatient and sold chln two weeks too early
CHLN Buyout priceis now at 3.5 X sales . CTZ bought Ravenwood for 6 X sales so 20 will be top dollar
Sorry I meant $14.50.
$14.75 plus the $1.00 dividend
