SWKS @ 15+/- RFMD at a HUGE discount!

Hey, okay SWKS is the sector darling but 15 bucks!? LOL! RFMD should be trading in the 8 buck range right now if one is to use the same perameters as w/swks! I think RFMD gets taken out and that the buyer has been shorting this stock for as long as they could before the upgrades and big players started moving in.
I could be wrong, oh darn still made great money and things look up, up, and away from here but hey, who knows!? Certainly not the daytraders!

    • *in this economy a turn around story, RFMD, does not get "taken out". best in breed gets "taken out".

*an aquiring company does not want bad management that's still trying to fix an ill advised "buy out" of Sirenza.

*only way RFMD gets "taken out" is if it gets bought by private equity and it is then taken private and dismantled.

      • Good points. Best in breed does not always get taken out, ask Google or Intel. I realize RFMD is a long way from either however, take outs are also done to 1) Eliminate competition. or 2) as a cheaper entry into a industry or sector than starting from scratch 3) Or, as a means of buying a depressed VALUE at a cheaper price. there are more reasons but these are a few.
Management? Who cares, when a buy out occurs there is no mandatory reason to keep management. Oh a few more reasons buy outs of companys like RFMD occur. 1) Someone wants access to RFMDs customers. 2) Someone wants RFMDs pipeline of products/contracts. 3) Someone agrees with you that this is a turn around and realizes the price is cheaper today than it will be in 12 months.
Just a few examples. oh and by the way, you have it backwards, its usually best in breed doing the buying not getting bought out. Ask Oracle or Microsoft or....amazon...google...the list is endless. But thanks for causing a pause to review.
