Is someone eating too much on the climb? LOL ! I'll take today as a bullish sign. Someone answered an awful lot of selling to keep this price range so tight. ME thinks someone is trying to weave their way out of a SHORT! LOL ! I guess we'll see come Tuesday !
DBR, good points. 2G despite having delivered over 100 million much more quickly than aniticipated is already priced into the stock and yes QCOM/NOK leave the sector in question however, it is the smartphone/internet tsunami ( as Cramer puts it ) that is going to drive this sector and as you know , NOK popped up 57% increase in smartphone sales. I look at this tech wave as being very similar to the reel to reel, then 8track, then cassettes//cds etc.! It is the cellphone industry REINVENTING itself with existing cell phone users and of course whatever/whoever in the way of newcomers so, the 2G blowout can't be ignored forever, those are future customers! Finally, there is existing data that shows smartphones are "dropping" more calls than cellphones or it appears this is the case. All of the sudden, bandwidth matters and if Im not mistaken, RFMD has a really good handle on such issues through its military products division, I could be wrong, i don't know. I guess we'll see what RFMD has up its sleeve come Tuesday! have a good one!
Good point Rick..I know Soros is in this stock and there are others. Wellington management acts of behalf of customers and they might be playing games too. The funny thing about this stock is that the option activity is....almost embarrassingly absent. You're correct, someone milks this when they need too or so it seems. I wish I knew who was short and how long they have been short, this would tell us alot. Bottomline, RFMD is still a "show me" stock, it has to show a clear path upward before the SHORTs stop looking over their shoulder at RFMDs past. Unfortunately, because of RFMDs turbulent past, this 20 million SHORT is probably offsetting a long position so no one is really losing on the position until they try to cover and this is ( I think ) what we see around earnings times, the see-saw/weaving. Or, it some weaseldick TRUSTFUND Baby working the system churning and burning as much as he can get away with! In any event, even NOK had a nice POP in smartphone sales, that works for me! take care!
