the vaccine is in stage 2 and 1/2 on cure. all this thing is just a holding company for Emory university. works in monkeys, seems to work in humans. If all goes well this will be making money next year. Basically dead money for 12 months then should start up. At-lest that's what i can figure out. I would expect they license production to who ever makes the vials. If i goes there has to be a buy out somewhere - I ain't selling cheap.
Just to be clear, GeoVax has a vaccine, not a drug. I'm not an expert on Gilead's HIV drugs. I wasn't aware of any drug that is supposedly a cure for HIV. HIV drugs are very expensive and to the best of my knowledge only suppress the virus, not eliminate it. Unless a drug eliminates the virus completely, it's not a competitive threat to a vaccine that kills the virus. Plus the vaccine - even if boosters are administered periodically - will be much cheaper than drugs.
