I wonder if this FTC change

will put an end to Voyant's "unbiased reviews" by paid pumpers.

What a sleazy way to do business in the first place. How could anyone trust a company that operates like?

    Caveat emptor!

There are many rules & regs already in place that tend to cover protecting consumers, etc from false claims or failure to disclose conflicts of interest.

However, if you read the news, it appears that the FTC, the FED, the SEC, and other government agencies are slow to investigate and slow to bring abusers to justice.

Just look at the headlines and you will see MAJOR issues, not just smaller cap companies. However, the recent Matthew Brown of i-Hub and the Penny Manipulation Ring did rake in Millions.

FTC: re false claims or failure to disclose conflicts of interest.

...Existing FTC rules already ban deceptive and unfair business practices.

The proposed guidelines aim to clarify the law and for the first time specifically include bloggers, defined loosely as anyone writing a personal journal online....

...guidelines also would cover the broader and common practice of affiliate marketing, in which bloggers and other sites get a commission when someone clicks on a link that leads to a purchase at a retailer....

the agency has a big job ahead as new communications channels continually emerge.

...Advertisers now are paying some Twitter users to post short items through the increasingly popular messaging service. The FTC says the guidelines would cover such arrangements, regardless of the medium....

    • Good enough.

A few years ago, I broke down and bought the wife a riding mower. I felt so bad watching her struggle in the ankle deep grass with a self-propelled walk behind while I laid on the couch in the AC.

The rider even has a cup holder for her beer. She actually likes cutting the grass now.

Good hunting and watch out for those bears. They're growling again.

    • Fortunately, ACTC made it a glorious day for me. Got in at .02 in January. Skimmed some off the top today at the close at .27. Just enough to cover my original
investment and buy a used lawn mower.

    • Ouch. Sorry to hear that. But like you said, you wouldn't have listened anyway (just as many many others haven't). They always shoot the messenger. Or is that the piano player?

But hey, it's only money. I lost some today myself. It was a brutal day. Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear eats you.

    • Good kharma is a wonderful thing to have going for you. Where were you when I was paying 75 cents a share for this crap, damnit. Not your fault, I wouldn't have listened any way.

    • Ahhhh shucks, taint nothing. Just trying to do my good deed for the day. I'm sure you'd do the same for me.

Gotta keep that good karma going...
