Really bad train derailment ....may cost us $$$ this week. Google " Quebec train wreck" for details, photos.
It was 70 rail cars of crude and the derailment happened right in the middle of a small town. 3 dead and a really large fire. At present I can't imagine this is going to bode well for us longs. I would expect we'll see negative implications ......timeline unknown, JMHO
1. The railroad at fault is on a different line that feeds the Maine/Quebec area.
2. PBF runs rail through BNSF and Norfolk Southern. BNSF is on the west side of the US an NS is on the East Coast. Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway is located in Vermont, Maine and in Canada.
3. As we saw with the airplane crash, this was probably a conductor mistake. Trains do not usually leave the station on their own.
