Here's my golden rule. If you feel the urge to sell because it went down, buy some more. If you feel the urge not to sell because it went up, sell. That's the day trading rule. But unless you have a lot of money and time, don't try to time the market. Buy strong companies and just hold on. C is a good buy anywhere below $3.50 in my opinion.
Good point..... but the original poster should think about being an investor - not a trader.... Lots of friction cost, taxible events, and net result of the churning is probably no more than holding... Just the brokerages/traders don't make as much money.
