    • I must be an idiot, the Mexacian Gov doesn't want to own this. They do however want it to be traded on the Mex stock market as Banceo De Mexico. C is not traded in their market, they just want in the local game.

      • we must see if it's good or bad news for shareholders.
i see it's MEGA bad news..
well we are talking about 15% from a global profits for Citigroup they will lose
we have 2 ways to it could end:
1:Gov. will sell the 34% becasue of the mexican rules -this is bad for shareholders becasue:
A.many people believe C will buy in the future "buy back" the gov stake. of course before they do that they has to pay the tarp as a first step. if the GOV will sell the duilution is in.
        B. the GOV could sell it in the open market as a progrem for 3 months.
something like this, this will tank 20-25% .
GOV could sell the stakes to 2-03 furms , but they will sell it in the open market.
2.Gove will not sell the stake and citigroup will lose 15% from global future profits.
this is mega news and bad bad bad news no?
