When someone asked about C on his show tonight, he said that it was great, excellent CEO, but that it was a buy for a year and a half out! Man, I thought he had been saying that this thing would be at $8 in 2011 and $12 in 2012!
Just really don't know if this thing is a buy anymore.. I am thinking about if I sold, what could I buy for over the last quarter that would do extremely well.. Maybe AKAM, or Salesforce or something else.. Because all I see is the continued Gov selling in C all thru the end of the yar and the stock price being right where it is now, when many other stocks may have a great 4th quarter through the Holidays!
Serious comments only. I am long 6500 shares at approx $4.50..
I'm long 22,764 shares at $4.11. I'm hoping in 5 to 7 years the price returns to where it was (when this recession is forgotten - and things are looking good again). Short term I just want to get out of the "RED". When will they start paying dividends...next year I hope???
Yeah his show sucks tonite - spending time on data storage companies then saying you "can just avoid them if you want"
Citi is dead money...was the same a year ago will be the same a year from now due to huge number of shares...
Finerman said buy BAC - she's closer but BAC sucks but at leas tit has some future. This doesn't...
Cit's mistake was not building their retail banking.
WFC and USB MUCH more solid...
There's a reason why this is under 4 bucks...to borrow from Cramer damged stock AND damaged company.
Pandit is a fool. He doesn't know how to market what he has.
The brand is intact.
He'll be replaced evetually but too little too late.
Maybe in 20 years this can rise from the ashes to recreate itself as a real bank.
A such it isn't take seriously either as a retail bank or as investment bank.
It isn't a leader in any way and isn't likely to be for a very long time.
You would do better to buy BCS!!!!!!!!!
Single digit stocks are shunned by non - traders.
This got left behind for very good and many many reasons all of which are very substantial and reasons to avoid investment in this.
In the meantime even the most pathetic momentum stock vastly outperforms this and a good momentum stock like Apple outperforms this 10 times ....
Citi at 40?
Not in our lifetimes.
Apple at 1000...possible!
There's a company with tremendous growth and a PROVEN track record of success.
Citi has none of that...
