How about we start with yours? Hey, this is a country where we champion treating people equally, right? Hmmm, compared to the rest of the world, you're likely considered to be "wealthy", using the term loosely. Then again, most Dems use the term very loosely. According to them, if you make over 200K, you're "rich". Ya', that might be true if you're living in Haiti, but not most metro areas around the USA. Heck, even in rural areas, you'd be considered well off, at best. So, let's drop the class warfare BS, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Obama's "business policies" have been nothing other than punitive and the results, "no new jobs" to speak of, speaks alot louder than the noisy democratic gongs on forums such as these. Get a clue!
There are no easy answers. When the bread winner dies by accident or in battle who would not want the family to receive something? When the bread winner cannot take care for himself who would cut him off? There are many cases like this and there are many of the other type. I just know there are no blanket answers.
Congress needs to roll back the Francis-Bacon law (?) that guarantees that all gov't jobs pay union wages (called the prevailing wage) even in areas where there is no union. A waste of tax payer $'s.
Think about it.
No increase for SS because no increase in COL, but congress will get their $3,500 increase. And, most federal employees will get a raise because they have been on the job for another year, no other logical reason.
Obama is currently pushing for 50B for infrastructure stimulus..ALL wages by law will be Davis-Bacon wages...No small independent non union contractors will stand a prayer of receiving these contracts...Obama should roll back Davis-Bacon in this case as Bush did after Katrina, however Obama never met a union he didn't love...
the dems don't want to tax the rich - they are the rich - they want to tax the hard working - particularly those that are successful at it. i - and i presume may others - will step back from hard work with any additional increase in taxes - currently the benefit realized by successful hard work is only a fraction of the effort expended to achieve it. in my case that will be six figure reduction in income for the gov.
Yeah, lets punish the only group creating jobs so that they stop creating jobs all together. Lets see how much unemployment you can get when the rich leave this country for greener pastures.
