GM and the other american carmakers has already lost most of generation y with the shitty cars they were making while they were growing up.
The quality today is better then before but it's too late. Most of the poorer Gen Y probably prefers to buy Japanese cars and the wealthier ones buys European.
Even Kia and Hyundai are gaining market share the past decade. When they first started selling in the US, people considered the Korean cars more shitty than American cars. But now a lot of people consider them on par if not better.
Hard to beat the consistent quality and reliability of Toyota products. I like to be patriotic and buy American, but I want the best quality return on my dollar investment. We can do it if we change our focus. I believe Ford has come a long way on approaching Toyota quality. The Ford Fusion is very close to a Toyota Camry. I was very impressed with a recent rental. In November, throw out Obama and all of our lame incumbents in Congress. Support the Constitutional amendment that would require members of Congress to be subject to the same laws that they impose on the rest of us.
