Microsoft cost basis for the remaining shares they have in FB is about $7.27, they made alot on it and have a strong cash position also, and also want to leverage some of those eyeballs im sure.Microsoft invested 240 million for 33 million shares, sold 6,556,925 shares at IPO and still hold 26.2+ M shares.
7.27 is real price for FB shares
If they sold 6,556,925 of their shares in the IPO at $38 per share, that is $250 million. If their cost basis is $240 million, they now have a negative cost basis on their remaining shares, not the $7.27 you quoted.
That means they made alot of profit.
