      • Ya know, I haven't had a problem shorting today. But, maybe my broker has some sort of loop hole I get to exploit. But, this does remind me of something....for you guys pinning your hopes on a shorting ban today. Back in 08 when the crisis was very real, the Government imposed a temporary ban on shorting in order to prop up the markets. And, it worked until the ban was lifted. If you go back and look at the dates that the short ban was in effect and when it was lifted you'll see the worst sell-off happened when the ban was taken out. I think they only made it worst, because all the serious traders that were long took the opportunity to sell shares while the ban was in effect and then they flipped short when it was lifted. Plus, all signals at the time pointed south, so there had to be some pinned up aggression to sell short as well. It seems the price is rather depressed today. To me it looks like a simple correction to an established down trend. Make of this comment what you like, but do yourself a favor and look back at what happened in 08.
