    bioshock estimates?

I think 1.5M-2.5M at full price this year. Pachter's estimate is similar. Despite the great reviews and the hardcore buzz I've yet to see evidence it may hit the mass market enough to match Gears sales, or Halo's. That may come though, so there's potential upside to the estimate.

    • Thanks Jester. I agree the buzz right now is hardcore, however I think it very may well transfer over to the mass market if it 'plays' as smoothly as the reviews say it does. Are you thinking about a position in Take2 now? I remember you from atvi boards a few years back.

      • I see value here in the 12's, but only for Bioshock. There's little reason to be here in Oct-Dec when there's little visibility on GTA and a weak holiday season for them, unless Bioshock explodes into the mass market which is possible but unlikely. Better to be in the other sector names then IMO.

I'm not at all pleased with the games Zelnick has played. He forward dated his options then announced an earnings miss and delayed GTA, all while his fund buddies who put him in charge were selling out. Very suspicious. He'll probably get away with it, but so far I don't trust this new team any more than the old team, and as far as valuations are concerned management trust is critical to justifying a high valuation.
