Patch: OH GOD RED DEAD YES PLEASE YES RIGHT NOW ON THE FLOOR--- Oh. Excuse me. You see, I love gritty westerns. Red Dead Redemption is a gritty western. I also love games. Last I checked, Red Dead Redemption is also a game. This gameplay love-child of Deadwood and GTA takes cues from classic dustbowl gunslingin' tales and injects it with near-trademark Rockstar personality and production values. Red Dead's landscape is alive with Euphoria-driven AI characters and animals, presented in authentic detail. It's immediately gripping and immersive, and I can't wait to lock myself away, turn out the lights and get inappropriate with this one.
Cam: Erm, okay. Remind me not to go anywhere near you when you're playing this game. It does look sexy though. There are very few games that capture a sense of place quite as well as Red Dead Redemption – huge open vistas create an incredible sense of scale, underlining just how huge and rugged these areas of North America are, while the frontier towns are every bit as evocative as you'd imagine. Oh, and while Take-Two did announce a delay on this title (along with Mafia 2) - it was to the first half of fiscal 2010, which means it can still come out in November or December. *crosses fingers*
Similar to Mafia 2, this is yet another dark horse that analysts are not paying enough attention to.
I think TTWO is going to have an incredibly massive fiscal 2010, with a string of significant upside surprises. The fact that 2009 was totally abysmal would just add easy comps to the fire.
Revenue and earning growth in 2010 is going to be phenomenal. I am actually very bullish on the industry as a whole in 2010, as many incredible games were pushed there. I pulled the trigger on ATVI two days ago. It will have a great year in 2010 as well. TTWO remains my largest position.
