As I understand the process, each broker who holds shares in Clarus in the Street name for the benefit of individual shareholders is considered one shareholder. Thus, when we receive the proxy vote instructions they actually come from our brokerage service and not the company.
Thus, anyone with brokersage ( either IRA or self directed non retirement ) accounts with Fidelity will have Fidelity send out the proxy material and all shares held through Fidelity will be shown as being owned by FMR.
The same is true for Merrill Lynch.
The bottom line, you're right in your question, it is not very likely that Clarus has only 127 shareholders.
