Hi Does this company get treated the same as say KMP in terms of 401K/IRA restrictions-penalties, or is it like KMR where there are no restrictions. reason i ask is the C-Corp designation
Distributions are reported on a 1099 so they are treated as regular dividends for tax purposes. That much I know.
I should add that last year, ALL of CPLP's distributions were nontaxable ROC.
There can also be nontaxable distributions (ROC) on the 1099. NMM is a fine example of this.
Some MLP C-Corps with ratings by Wells....
Outperform: KMR, EEQ, TOO, CPLP, GMLP,
Market perform: NMM,
New one.... SDLP
General partners rated by Wells....
Outperform: WMB, TRGP, OKE
Perform: KMI, XTXI
All 1099 tax forms.
I'm counting on it. My wife and I have 34,000 shares in our IRA's between us. I don't think there is any UBTI.Check with your tax guy.
