Would you let go of your head of sales if everything was going according to plan? No, you would change course as CA has done only if things were not looking good. The future? The future is unknown but the trend before letting Fischer go was down.
If sales were great and the trend was up, the CEO would not let Fischer go no matter how much they dis-agreed. Obviously the move to let Fischer go is a signal that sales were not heading in the right direction and changes needed to be made. Whether the changes can fix the problem is yet to be seen. Until proof is shown through earnings reports, I believe buying the stock expecting an upward price move is more of a "buy and hope" strategy than a "buy and hold" strategy.
