Is it possible to impeach a sitting president between the time he's re-elected and before his current term expires thus nullifying the election?
IMO Yes...Constitution doesn't make a distinction between a sitting and transitional thingies...Law is the Law...
but if he was impeached and removed from office during his first term but BEFORE being sworn in for his second term, would he be prevented from taking office for the second term?
The removal would have to be quick to get it in during the short period between the election (November 6, 2012) and the start of the new term in January of 2013.
As I interpret the situation, NO the election would not be nullified. Joe Biden would succeed to POTUS and a new Vice President would have to be selected and approved. All IMHO.
ACE: The ACE is in place.
