    hey mr c

are you gonna tell me that obama couldn't have found a way to let petreus resign with some honor after his 34 years of faithful duty to this country?

there are at least 3-4 other people that are resigning after the end of his first term; why couldn't have obama simply allowed petreus to resign for the same kind of bullssssssit reasons the other people are using?

      Hold on there, Pebs.

I thought that you had been posting here that the resignation was the honorable thing to do. As a guilty philanderer, David needed to expiate himself of his sin and public confession was his choice because he probably knew that General Sinclair and perhaps others would eventually expose him and compromise his CIA General Clean image. Remember the story of David and Bathsheeba? Well this one is David and Paula.

I really don't know if Hussein wanted to clean house at the CIA after the Benghazi tragedy or not; it seems that the timing allows David to leave without pinning anything from Libya on his tail as he goes out the door. My original thoughts were that General David fell on his sword AS AN HONORABLE GESTURE for the failure in eastern Libya and that the extra-marital affair was the cover story.

BTW, why do I think that Dr. Broadwell, the radiologist, is the cuckhold in this story? Don't have a clue as to the marital relations in the Petraeous family, but if Mrs. P. was just another good wife with a straying husband, isn't that about par for the course? All IMHO.

      Mr. Congeniality

      • i DID say that resignation was the honorable thing to.

my point was that obama could have beeb a little more "honorable" himself and just allowed petreus to resign for "personal reasons" and simply let it go at that.

if petreus had made some major gaffes concerning benghazi, then he should be (and may still be) held responsible for whatever those gaffes may have been.

        i'll close with this:

he served honorably and memorably for 34 years and he was certainly entitled to resign with some grace.

if the scandal thing were to have become exposed after he had resigned, then it would have been a different matter altogether.

and the same thing goes for mccrystal!!!!!
