Enjoy the Islands of Paradise!
Buy a couple of fresh sweet pineapple slices (vendors used to hawk them on the streets) and lift one as a toast to the glory of the kama-aina. Eat fresh papaya every morning with cold Hawaiian fresh-squeezed lime juice on it.
Spent five years there as a beach-bum, surfer, hula show empressario, trader, and whatever else I needed to do to stay alive. When Statehood came, I returned from Hawai'i. Been back about 20 times; my wife does Hawaiian quilting. She has been invited to exhibit there, but the costs of shipping and insuring her artwork are rather prohibitive, so we'll return just to enjoy a few days or weeks in the warm sun, soft tropical breezes, all in the company of nice people.
Aloha!
