Some neighborhoods in the United States are seeing a rise in the number of serial beer runners stealing beer from local convenience markets.
It seems that the criminals have an entitlement mentality. Beer is produced, delivered, marketed, and distributed. But these beer runner have an ideological bent that informs them that if other people are enjoying and drinking beer, they, too, are ENTITLED to obtain beer to imbibe, too.
They seem to justify their criminal activity on some entitlement mentality. It is not a question of "Right" or "Wrong;" it is a question about which local convenience market stocks beer and keeps it cold that they can run into that business and make a requisition without even thinking about paying for the product.
These criminals are not satisfied to steal just a can or a six-pack or a quart; no, they help themselves to suitcase-sized packages of 30 beers per container.
Wanna bet that if any of these creeps get apprehended they will be out on the street in a few minutes?
In our area, the law enforcement officials, jailers, and court systems are starting to run sobriety tests for drivers as the New Year approaches. They are keeping sufficient space available in their holding cells to keep a few drunken drivers off the streets even as other crimes against people and property crime perps pass through after being processed and bailed out. The enterprise of human warehousing of criminals is a growth industry in a failing society. All IMHO.
