People from which nations hate US the most

    Reviewed latest research reports.

No question why #$%$stan hates us the most. The assassination of Usama bin Laden in Abbottobad while probably under #$%$ ISI/military protection was rather embarrassing. Continuing drone strikes are rather disturbing, too.

Down the list after a whole bunch of Islamic sites are both CHINA and ARGENTINA. Chicoms are flirting with economic dangers if they prevail. We are China's largest debtor and customers! The gauchos and Buenos Aires sophisticates are probably just envious. All IMHO.

    Sentiment: Buy

    • The "gauchos" have in the last several years been prosecuting former officials who were involved under the US-funded "Operation Condor" program of the 1970s--1980s in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and Brazil, under which an estimated 60,000 people were killed. The current president of Brazil is a survivor of torture from that period.

Argentina's security apparatus was famous for its kidnapping of the children of the activists it murdered and turning them over for adoption by members of the military and the police force (instead of releasing them to the grandparents). Also it was famous for loading the bodies of its torture victims onto airplanes and dumping them at sea.

I'm surprised you don't know about this, Ace. You're a pretty well-informed guy. There were several movies about this period, including "The Official Story", "The Wall of SIlence" (with Vanessa Redgrave), "Missing" (with Jack Lemon and Cissy Spacek), and "State of Siege" (with Yves Montand).

Sorry, I don't know either the actual history or the movie version of Operation Condor. Why did the US fund this seemingly continental cleansing movement? Anti-Communist? These allegations did not seem to be high on my Latin American colleagues agenda when I was doing business and investing in America del Sur during the 1990s. Must have missed that.

Glad nobody came back with the rejoinders about The Falklands War. The USA did not invoke the Monroe Doctrine or declare for the Argentinians in their claims against Great Britain. When the Argentine military invaded the Falklands, the USA sided with the Brits and supported them. Can't see that the Falklands War should remain a cause or reason for the people of Argentina to hate us. All IMHO.

ACE: There are no jokers in my deck.

        Sentiment: Buy
