The Prospects of a NEW Federal Reserve Chairman

I guess that Benny" Boom-Boom" BUST Bernanke's tenure might be coming to an end as Chairman of the Rumors out of Washington tell us that Benny "Boom-Boom" BUST Bernanke's tenure is about over at the Federal Reserve Board. Don't know why The Anointed One would NOT reappoint him, but the stories are that he will be retired. After all, all he did was successfully manage the worst Great Recession and bring the economy back without hyperinflation. He certainly had to have great satisfaction as a solid economist as being able to demonstrate that ideas are both powerful and useful.

So who are the main characters on the short list for the Fed chairmanship?
    1. Larry Summers who along with Alan Greenspan and Bobby Rubin saved the world economy when the international financial turmoils threatened the stability of our governing system. But few people remember that crisis. My thoughts are that Summers is at his best when the challenges are the toughest, but otherwise looks for trouble and publicity. He is like the critical care physician that every thoughtful person in the world should retain for that eventual time when your health is in crisis and you need the VERY Best doctor at your bedside making the life-saving decisions.
    2. Janet Yellen is a Bernankian and has served with the Federal Reserve. She steers a clean course, nothing spectacular, but has a management style that is both solid and defensible.

What do these times require? Hopefully, a good manager who gets policy translated into the proper channels without too much controversy and confrontation.

The ball is in the hands of the POTUS, but the confirmation process could be both illuminating and disturbing. All IMHO.
