Sugar can be linked to high blood glucose levels, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, macular degeneration, tooth decay, and addiction. Hence, sugar is worse or just as bad as tobacco. People who have these facts wouldn't argue against stevia, and combined with stevia's growth rate, it clearly appears that stevia is the future of sweeteners. STVF couldn't be more attractive
"Actions speak louder then words" and I don't think that anyone is paying attention to STVF right now.
I think most of the big companies look at the shady past of Legend Mining Company/Stevia First and are reluctant to do business with them until they prove themselves with a product on the market.
So until then I don't think that STVF is attractive or is positioned to take a share of anything right now.
Brian, I believe Bobbi was stating the health facts regarding sugar and its meaning to the long-term growth of stevia. Sugar is the new tobacco and all stevia companies, including STVF, are poised to thrive in such an environment. STVF already has a product.
Good to hear from you Brian! I noticed that the other Stevia is now involved in harvesting Hemp seeds.
George Blankenbaker, Stevia Corp President, comments, “As the public becomes more aware of hemp seeds and their health properties, there is increasing demand for hemp products. We intend to pursue products that contain both stevia and hemp which will appeal to the health conscious consumers.”
This makes one wonder if they feel that their Stevia crops in Asia are not enough.
Anyhow, it has been very quiet with Stevia First lately and you are right that their history from 2 years ago and further back does come back to haunt them. I still think Mr. Brooke and his fermentation and new flavor profile has a lot of potential in the future but they need to get their intellectual properties locked down and figure out a way to make some money pretty soon. Otherwise, this stock seems to be losing people's interest, just like you said.
I agree. Stevia use is a true sleeper that is going to take the industry by storm. Sugar and the artificial sweeteners really can't compete as consumers become better educated. WFM --Whole Foods is expanding quickly because people are starting to change their old habits. STVF is very well positioned to take a large share of the market.
