If TD Ameritrade & Schwab are any indication...IBKR to EXPLODE updward

TD Ameritrade reported Q1 earnings up over 30%, large gains to customers and assets.

And IBKR's traders are even more hyperactive. Expect a very, very good Quarter.

Anyone who hasn't bought in by now is going to be weeping next week.

    • I think it's a foregone conclusion that IBKR will have a surprise upside this quarter like the other brokers, but the problem is that both Ameritrade,Schwab, and Knight are warning that trading volume for the next quarter could be lower if market conditions continue to be a problem.

That's why you see all the companies that have reported backing off from their post earnings gains.

      No position.

      • After doing some more research, I decided to invest at 27.98 to get the run up into earnings. I see Forbes wrote a beautiful piece by Lisa Hess last month and the stock has gone down 20% from her screaming buy recommendation (as had practically all her other recs).

I don't think this will be any more than a trade. Jeffries reported horrible earnings today but the stock is up since they stocke a 15% stake in their company.

        Fingers crossed.

    • TD Ameritrade & Schwab would not be any indication. Perhaps the opposite is more likely. Those customers might be coming from Interactive Brokers. Anyway, does Td Ameritrade and Schwab allow withdrawals 100% of the time? interactive Brokers does not. Do they have reasonable customer service? This is a service business. Interactive Brokers has customer service from hell.

      • So can we put you down on the record that IBKR will show less customers this quarter and then laught at you really hard when your silly prediction fails to come true and they show double digit customer growth?

Not only do I predict IBKR will do very well this quarter, but they will do even better on all metrics than TD.

      • Dotty, stop being a dope. Customers not fleeing a low cost broker like IB to go to mid-cost broker like Ameritrade..........your being plain old stupid. If you had said the other mid-cost guys are doing well because they are fleeing another mid-cost guy (namely e-trade) and this may not effect IB as positively, then I would take you seriously. Get it straight......e-trade is losing while most of the rest are winning at e-trade's expense.
