  • Much better plays out there in other companies. IBM paid 2.6 Enterprise Value for SPSS, Infa is aleady at 2.9. IBM also paid 14x of free cash flow, INFA cash flow is not very good. Infa is a good solid company, but how can another company come in and offer $26 to $28 a share as the numbers don't make sense.

    • I agree. The stock is at a 20% premium simply on the acquisition expectations. I think the fair value just based on fundamentals should be around 15-16$. Also, INFA for some reason is unable to increase the EPS at a higher rate than the revenue growth in the last 4-5 yrs. Actually I think the revenue grew at a faster rate than the EPS.

I think Oracle missed the opportunity beginning of the year when the stock was around 12$. I have a feeling now that Oracle is interested, but its just too expensive right now for them and also in the midst of the SUN acquisition.

I cannot think anyone other than Oracle/HP to acquire INFA.
