The last time the company paid a dividend was in about 2001. They've been dealing with declining revenues and growth for the past 5 years but have adapted and made terrific acquisitions (cyrusone) to offset the decling Telco business.
Gary Wojtaszek encouraged the company to get into the data base business years ago and will now serve as Cyrusone's CEO going forward.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Cincinnati Bell make another investment with the IPO proceeds in the next year.
What's your take on the Corvis/Broadwing deal?
Didn't they build out a sizable fiber network with Corvis optical switches then sell it back to Corvis for pennies on the dollar? Was that around the time they quit paying dividends?
