The Best Buy near me was packed with customers this weekend. Unfortunately for longs, I didn't witness anyone even sniffing out any of the SNDK products. All SNDK MP3 players were in stock and I didn't witness one single person checking out their MP3 selection at all while I was there (in nearly 1 hour of observation at prime time). The flash drives and memory chips were plentiful and abundant on their big display rack. The packages had dust on them, as if there hadn't been interest in these products for quite some time. The store in general was packed and located in a very upscale neighborhood with very rich patrons. Just didn't seem like there was any interest in any of the SNDK products whatsoever. I smell an earnings miss.

They make the memory for LG products like the new chocolate phone, and I saw a lot of people upgrading.
BTW, Does anyone know what other phones, if any, does SNDK provide the memory?
I also went to a midwest best buy, where many people were checking out the e200 series. There was also a hand written best buy sign in the sansa area stating "Hot Item". I went to try before buy. I own a couple of the m240s and totally impressed with the sound quality, inwhich Consumer Reports recommended the M240 as a BUY. After many product reviews and DD, Bought the e260, and it is even better than expected and also best value in the market. I am now considering a buy on some SNDK and wandered into the message board.Seems shorts are everywhere these days. MY ONLY concern is that are they selling the players too cheap!!!
Sandisk learned a lesson from Apple, that the player itself is only a part of the package that consumers want to buy. The recent addition of oem vendors to supply speakers and other accessories combined with tne new lower priced 1-2gb Sansas will have a dramatic impact on sales in the 4th Q, IMHO. I have an old 256k sandisk player and have been waiting for complimentary products before upgrading and have avoided the IPOD for a couple of reasons. Sandisk is now giving me what I want and I suspect many others will see the same. I imagine they will merchandise it to highlight the Package products with the new Sansa... let's hope so.
"the guy at bester buy said he thought no one in that there trailer park were buying that there product, so i reckon sales will suck"...another intelligent short in here just trying any angle to get out of his short position or just starting up his position and here comes the
What an absolute idiot. Let me guess...people instead were lining up buying:
PNY flash cards
Memorex USB flash drives
And all of the SNDK product just sits there...
You are the SCUM of the earth!!

Wait, PNY and Memorex disk-on-key are licensees (OEM) of M-SYS and teir flash cards arfe licensed from SNDK. In any case, the money is going to SNDK
