Hersha has about 40 hotels in impacted area-lost business due to weather/etc. will occur, however-once they are back in full operation-those hotels will be 100% occupied I predict as FEMA housing money/company business needs are implemented. Net/Net-not to worry. HT will do fine. 'Location-location-location'
Most businesses such as HT have what is called "business disruption insurance" which will kick in and compensate them for lost revenues based on prior year's normal business minus some deductible. If HT has such insurance, the impact of Sandy will be minimal. If I were in HT management, this is the first thing I would communicate to the market.
