You're badly mistaken if you think just because the economy is growing INTC is going to grow too. The economy is most definitely in a recovery mode. There's this thing called the business cycle and it's way too early in the business cycle for companies to make a lot of capital investments. There is this other thing called valuation and INTC is overvalued based on future earnings prospects.
What else is he going to say? That the economy sucks? With interest rates at 1.75% for months now? It would totally tank the markets if he said anything else.... He ain't got no bullets left in the holster if the economy does turn South. Unless you wanna go .25% Japan-style recession (imagine your money markets in that environment...).
