Do I want to help people who live on less than a dollar a day and have no shelter and no possessions to speak of? Absolutely, but only if I decide where and how the money is spent.
Do I want to pay charity to those sitting on million dollar houses and living in the richest country in the world? Hell, no
You should be able to opt out of the SS system either by withdrawing what you already paid, or stopping any future payments.
Coercive redistribution that is SS, Medicare and other entitlements only lead to uncontrolled growth of the government and all the corollary abuses. Creeping socialism is destroying individual rights in America, slowly but surely.
