I bought this terd in 1997 at exactly 20. Now, over 10 years later, it's still where I bought it. Do I hold or sell? On the one hand, the company has less competition now than in 1997. On the other hand, it seems to be going nowhere and I'm not a trader (buying and selling on cycles) but an investor (buy and hold). All opinions welcome.
Gee...that's too bad pal. Since you've owned it that long, you must have been monitoring this message board since, at least, 2003. I recommended to everyone here that they buy silver and it was only $5 an ounce back then. By the end of this year it will be WELL over $20. Who's laughing now???
If you had 3 2:1 stock splits then basically you have 8 shares for every one you bought. Lets say you bought 1,000 shares back then. Now you have 8,000 at a per share cost of $2.50. Nearly a ten-bagger in 11 years. Seems like a decent investment to me.
Good grief, man! All the covered calls you could have made! I just made over $25,000 + in the last six months from covered calls, the last one on the Jan 25's. I got the premium AND all my capital back, and Monday I'll be ready to do it again! Get yourself qualified to do options (it's EASY) get yourself a book (Wall Street Money Machine) read up on "covered calls" and start pumping some cash out of your investment!
Hold your shares. INTEL is oversold. Its could go as low as $16.00 which would be a solid BUY. But Since your not a trader, Hold your shares and sell in when it hits the mid-20's this coming summer.
"I bought this terd in 1997 at exactly 20. Now, over 10 years later, it's still where I bought it"
You are either a mo-r-o-n or phokin sheithead.
With three 2:1 splits you stupid asxhole have a phokin 800% gain today. kokkksokkin piece of sheit you.
Let me understand...you bought in 1997, let's say you bought 1,000 shares at @20 each, the stock has gone through 2 splits since then, one in 1999 and one in 2,000( 2 for 1 ) so if my math is right you should have now 4,000 Shares at $ 19.88 = $79,520
So you started with $20,000 and after a little over 10 years you have almost $80,000 .... and you say the stock has gone nowhere ???? I wish my 401k was that CRAPPY !!!!!
